In Honor of Our Mothers

This Mother’s Day, instead of buying more “stuff” that will “sit around” and collect dust, consider giving your mom something very different this year:

• the opportunity to paint with other like-hearted women at one of my upcoming art events on May 11, May 25 or June 22;

• the gift of something handmade, one-of-a-kind, and inspired by our natural world; or

• a commissioned work of art (to be completed this summer) of a vacation destination, her home, her dog, or even a portrait of her children or grandchildren.

Although my mom does not identify as an “artist”, she sure is leading a life filled to the brim with creativity, faith, thoughtfulness, resourcefulness, and courage, which are all very much required of any artist’s life. By her example I have learned to build a beautiful, inspired life of my own. For Mother’s Day, I often bring her a hanging basket of annual flowers or an original scratchboard of one of her favorite wildflowers for her china cabinet–either way, she has more beauty in her world, which is always my aim.

For Mother’s Day 2023, I have put together a collection of new artwork, artwork from my archives that has never before been offered for sale, and artwork from previous artshows at special Mother’s Day Sale prices. Many of the pieces below were developed with the theme of motherhood in mind (hence the nests and eggs) and many of the pieces below are centered around the theme of femininity and our capacity. Some of the pieces were selected for this collection due to their small scale to fit on any shelf or nightstand.

Also, I would appreciate your cooperation — pretty regularly I enter “calls for art” for upcoming group art exhibitions– anyway, I am expecting results on one show in particular on June 28, 2023. If I am accepted into such a show with a piece that you happen to acquire, I would love to work with you to have the artwork on loan for the period of the temporary art exhibition. The ones I entered into this show happen to be from the “Reflecting Nature” series, so if you’re purchasing a watercolor or scratchboard, you’re all good.

NO NEED TO FRAME: All of Lindsey Kiser’s original acrylic paintings are painted on gallery-wrapped canvas stretched over stretcher bars, each 1.5 inches deep. Her original acrylic paintings do not require framing for professional presentation. Large scale paintings will be taken off of the stretcher frames and shipped in jumbo kraft tubes. Your local professional framer will help you restretch the canvases.
