May Birth Flower: The Lily of the Valley

Did you know that you have a birth month flower?  The tradition of assigning a flower (or two) for each month of the year dates back to Roman times. Over time, the meaning and symbolism has changed.

May’s birth flower is the lily of the valley. The fragrance is incredible.

Lily of the valley is associated with sweetness, humility and the return of happiness.

I have drawn in pen and painted in watercolor the delicate bell-shaped flowers against their wide and linear leaves on cold press watercolor paper. The original painting is 7″ x 5″ and comes with a mat.
