Description

March Birth Flower: The Daffodil

Did you know that you have a birth month flower?  The tradition of assigning a flower (or two) for each month of the year dates back to Roman times. Over time, the meaning and symbolism has changed.

March’s birth flower is the daffodil and represents rebirth and hope.

Lindsey shared, “Perhaps my first job was to pick bouquets of daffodils. You see, my grandparents had a half acre field of daffodils on their farm in Northern Kentucky. At only 4 years old, I was asked to pick bouquets of daffodils. I remember being told to pick the stems all the way down where they emerge from the ground.

Still today, daffodils are a friendly face. They are among the first to foretell the coming warmer weather. Their delicate fragrance reminds me of my exceptionally warm and happy childhood and, also, the last relic of the Great Outdoors my dear daddy held before he passed away at the end of March in 2023.”

I have drawn and painted daffodils in watercolor on cold press watercolor paper. The original painting is 7″ x 5″ and comes with a mat.

I would like to provide free shipping to anyone who collects two originals in this series. Contact me, if your shopping cart isn’t providing this as an option. It’s lindseykiserart at gmail.com.
