Description

This 5″ by 5″ original scratchboard of a white-breasted nuthatch was completed as part of a #30paintingsin30days online challenge. Lindsey completed the challenge while homeschooling her seven-year-old, nurturing a two-year-old, and practicing patent law two days per week as a way to remind herself of who she is and to follow her God-given calling to be an artist. Artists aren’t artists, after all, if they aren’t making art.

Look at the birds of the air: They do not sow or reap or gather into barns— and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

Lindsey Kiser chose the theme of #Kentuckywildlife and #Kentuckywildflowers for this initial body of work that led to the launch of her career as a professional nature artist.

White-breasted Nuthatch has been exhibited in the Kentucky Capitol Rotunda in Frankfort on Arts Day in 2018, in the Boone County Public Library as part of her first solo art show since 2002, and for the board of ComposeArts at the Lexington Country Club in September 2022.

Products, such as tote bags and greeting cards, are available in my Fine Art America Store.

Lindsey Kiser is an active member and elected board member of the International Society of Scratchboard Artists.
