Sweet Treat by Lindsey Kiser
A female ruby throated hummingbird is getting her sweet fix from visiting each bloom of coral honeysuckle, a native plant to Kentucky. The graceful curves of the hummingbird are accentuated against the black background.
The composition was inspired by a photograph taken by Bill Kearney, a Kentucky Crafted artist and photographer, and used with permission.
Sweet Treat is a 6″ x 6″ original scratchboard with colorful ink and iridescent watercolor. It comes framed in a black floater frame to about 7.5″ x 7.5″ and 1.5″ deep.
