Description
Royal Flush is an artwork, ink on clay, of aflushing cock pheasant over field of native grasses against the backdrop of a treeline in autumn. Will your shot connect before he flies away?
First, Lindsey painted the scene with ink on clay. After the ink dried, every square inch was engraved with needles through the top layer of ink to reveal the white clay underneath to give the work its unique texture and style. Over several days, layers of ink were applied in the positive, while layers were subtracted line by line in the negative until the artwork was deemed complete.
The artwork is a work-in-progress, much like our own personal development. We add ideas, morals, habits, and personality traits, and we also subtract bad habits, bad influences, and refine who we are little by little, year by year.
