September Birth Flower: The Aster

September’s birth flower is the aster.

My home and studio are located on three acres in rural Northern Kentucky. The best part is that we have two ponds and an abundance of wildflowers, pollinators, turtles, and songbirds. Every September and October, there is an abundance of purple asters bordering the ponds, which we have left with native plants to attract more wildlife.

Asters represent love, faith, wisdom, and intellect.

I have drawn in pen and painted in watercolor native purple asters on cold press watercolor paper. The original painting is 7″ x 5″ and comes with a mat.
