January Birth Flower: The Snowdrop

Did you know that you have a birth month flower?  The tradition of assigning a flower (or two) for each month of the year dates back to Roman times. Over time, the meaning and symbolism has changed.

January’s birth flower is the snowdrop, because this white drooping blossom is one of the earliest to emerge in the spring and is known to bloom in the snow. It is indigenous to Europe and the Middle East and has a rich cultural history.

I have drawn and painted snowdrops in watercolor on cold press watercolor paper. The original painting is 7″ x 5″ and comes with a blue mat. I would like to provide free shipping to anyone who collects two originals in this series. Contact me, if your shopping cart isn’t providing this as an option. It’s lindseykiserart at gmail.com.
