Wildlife Art

I’ve been a wildlife artist as long as I can remember. My first success as an artist began at the age of 16, when I won Kentucky’s first Junior Duck Stamp art contest. My winning entry, Pin Stripes, of a pintail duck on rippled (striped) water, toured the country in a traveling exhibit alongside the other first place winning paintings from each of the fifty states. I had business cards made and received my first Kentucky sales tax identification number for the sale of my art that year.

Today, I am still influenced by the animals that I come across while hiking, hunting, and bird watching. I believe whole-heartedly that it is Good Medicine to spend quality time in the Great Outdoors and that surrounding ourselves with images and artwork of the outdoors and other inspiring artwork is also good for the heart, mind, and soul.
