Description
Harvest Beauty Where It Grows is a 36″ x 36″ original acrylic painting by Lindsey Kiser.
While the painting looks like just non-objective shapes and forms, the artwork is actually a highly realistic and representative painting of an underappreciated living thing. “Harvest Beauty Where It Grows”, a line from a poem, is an apt title for this painting, because it shows the beautiful patterns of a common and often overlooked fungus, birds nest fungus. The splashes of water inside each cup add to the playful pattern.
I painted this painting for Greater Than These, the title of my exhibition at Thomas More University. While we, as humans, are part of the ecosystem and an ecosystem is greater than the sum of its parts, each human is individually loved and individually worthy in the sight of God.
This artwork was juried into a group show called “Nature’s Patterns”, hosted by the Rhode Island Watercolor Society, that will run from June 24, 2023 to July 28, 2023. A virtual open reception will be held on Friday, June 30 at 6 p.m. on Zoom.
My hope and prayer for the collector of this original painting, is that the collector feels seen and appreciated. My hope for you is to notice the beauty in your life and in yourself.
