Description
Awakening is a 48″ x 48″ (four foot by four foot) acrylic painting on a gallery-wrapped canvas. Awakening shows a world unto itself. The nest is reflected in the globe, and the globe does its very best to make its impression upon the nest. It’s ethereal, almost abstract qualities is unearthly although really almost photorealistic of the reference photo that Lindsey Kiser selected of the hundreds taken while creating this composition.
In the “Reflecting Nature” series, I explored the beauty and complexity of the modern family navigating the pressures of the 21st Century through the depiction of birds’ nests nestled into polished glass vases, bell jars, and other reflective surfaces.
